Somewhere in San Diego there is an adorable little girl named Penelope. Penny has Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. In the two short weeks that Penny has been in the hospital she has undergone two surgeries, numerous tests and scans, blood transfusions, chemo and treatments. Just yesterday, they received word that Penny now has RSV.
This absolutely breaks my heart. I'm sitting here looking at my perfectly healthy little boy, and I can not fathom what that sweet little family is going through. They don't deserve what they're going through. They do, however, deserve our help. They are staging a media blitz today to promote awareness of Penny's situation. Penny does have insurance, but it only covers 60% of the bill and, as I'm sure you can imagine, treating cancer is NOT cheap. Next Friday, March 19th, they are holding a fundraiser auction to benefit Penny and her family. So, pass this along! If you have a blog, blog about it. Put Penny's badge in your sidebar. Add her widget (both badge and widget are below). Tweet about it. Make your Facebook status all about Penny. Send out a massive email to all of your family and friends. Just get the word out.
